US and Iran Resume Nuclear Talks in Oman Amid Rising Tensions
The US and Iran agreed to nuclear talks in Oman on Friday, after tensions rose over Iran's nuclear program and crackdown on protests. US President Donald Trump warned Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei to be 'very worried', while Khamenei said that any trigger will start a war in the territory.
The discussions were delayed due to disagreements about place and location, but were resumed after the leaders of Muslims countries asked the USA to not cancel the plans for negotiations. USA officials confirmed that in the discussions, not only Iran's nuclear program will be included, but also its ballistic missiles, support for militant groups, and treatment of its own people.
Iran is claiming that its nuclear program is peaceful and they are not trying to make weapons. Earlier President Trump was ordered to attack nuclear facilities to prevent the development. Meanwhile, the USA supported Iranian protests after a violent government crackdown on anti-government demonstrations, which left thousands dead.Khamenei called them 'sedition' and accused USA and Israel for orchestrating them.
